The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Before my husband and I adopted our animals we did some research. We wanted to find the perfect fit for our lifestyles so we would be prepared to suite their needs. Here are a list of *typical* Pug characteristics:

The Good
The Good:
Pugs are class clowns. They will steal your heart and have personalities as big as the moon and stars. One look into their large, expressive eyes there is no going back.
They are lovable and playful! Pugs are known for being one of the best breeds of dog for children. Our Pug, Martini, loves everyone she meets! No, seriously, everyone. Whenever we take her on walks, to the store, to the park she wants to stop and meet everyone.
Pugs require little grooming with their soft, short coats.
Pugs are easy to train as long as you have some treats or food around. Pugs are a lot like pigs and will do anything for a treat or two.

The Bad
The Bad:
Pugs are high maintenance. They require a lot of attention and can be very needy. My pug is my constant shadow.
Pugs sometimes are prone to have anxiety disorders. Our pug has to take daily medication or she becomes agitated, scared and plagued with anxiety.
Pugs can easily overheat so they must be kept indoors. To me this isn’t a bad thing at all but some people only want to have an outdoor animal baby – if that’s the case a pug is not the right choice!

The Ugly (not really though, this pug is too cute!!)
The Ugly:
Pugs are gassy!! Due to their short little muzzles they inhale extra air and also expel it.
Pugs shed a lot! Hair everywhere, everyday. Just be prepared for hair ball city with a pug around.
Pugs are prone to various health problems and usually require extra Veterinarian care.
In the end:
Regardless of all the pros and cons out there I wouldn’t trade my pug for the world! I look forward to her kisses and cuddles everyday.
